As you know the B.C. Food Systems Network Working Group on Indigenous
Food Sovereignty in partnership with Siska Traditions Society launched
the Indigenous Food Systems Network Website on February 2, 2010. Since
then, it has been exciting to watch the Indigenous Food Systems Network
grow! Recent reports show how people from many other countries have
visited the site!!!
With that in mind, I am inviting and encouraging you and others within
your communities, organizations and food security/sovereignty circles to
use the website to upload and share information relevant to the pages
and themes listed below.
The more information you share, the more communities will be mobilized
and governments and corporations around the world will have no
alternative but to recognize the power of the "policy driven by
practice" within the movement. Let's use this website as a networking
tool to kick some food sovereignty butt (so to speak)!
The website was designed to allow individuals, communities and projects
to profile the Indigenous food related action, research and policy
reform in B.C. Canada and beyond. There are several themes, keywords and
pages that relate to many different aspects of Indigenous food systems,
so please feel free to share all the great documents and pics that
profile the great work being done.
